HEC Recognition

 

· The university must be recognized by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) as a degree-awarding institution.
· Degrees conferred are eligible for HEC attestation and further study in Pakistan and abroad once the university is recognised.

Applicants must have: 12 years of education (Intermediate / FA / F.Sc / ICS / I.Com / A-Levels or equivalent).
Relevant minimum marks percentage as required by the specific programme (often ≥50%, with some flexibility for different fields). Equivalent international qualifications must be verified and have an equivalence certificate from: IBCC (Inter Board Committee of Chairmen) for intermediate or A-Level, and
HEC (for foreign undergraduate degrees, if applicable).

Selection is based on a combination of academic performance plus results of standardized or university entry tests in line with HEC policies (where applicable).
Typical breakdown (may vary by programme):

· SSC / Matric Marks — 15–40% (varies by faculty) · HSSC / Intermediate Marks — 25–60% · Entrance Test Score — Remaining portion (often weighted heavily, e.g., 50–60%)

 Entry Test Requirements:


 

· For most BS and undergraduate programmes, applicants must pass a university entry test (or equivalent HEC-approved test).
· Some professional degrees (e.g., LLB) may require an HEC Law Admission Test (LAT).
· Standardized tests like SAT may be accepted as alternatives where university policy allows.

Important: Admission cannot be offered on hope certificates (i.e., before graduation results are officially issued).

· A relevant Bachelor’s degree with sufficient CGPA/marks. · Passing a GRE / GAT / HAT type entry exam with at least a minimum score (often 50%).
 

· Merit typically includes academic record, entry test score, and sometimes interview.
· No provisional admission based purely on expected results.
